Profiles of Personal Planets ~ 7 Sep 2021

When shooting a film, at some point the sound team will record ambient noise for a minute or two in the location of every scene with no effects, no dialogue... simply the background sounds. This is called room tone, which is a bit like how it feels stepping into each and every day. The planets transit through the sky overhead, seemingly without sound, and yet they create a “feel” to the day... the ambient vibe with which we all contend through the constructs of our natal chart and the circumstances created with actions inspired by the assistance of previous transits. This is the cosmic room tone.

Mercury in Libra opposes Chiron in Aries today. Many contend it is difficult to feel well if it feels less that great out there. On a personal level one might sense that something needs to be applied as a remedy to ensure that life’s background noise does not impede inspiration, pursuit of objectives, and get in the way of creating the greater good as the Aquarian influences of Jupiter and Saturn hold as a high banner for us all. There is a sticky funk that can be heard in the room tone in the moment and at this point in the year, it’s downright annoying.

Within the next week the transiting room tone significantly shifts. Will it be better? It will be different and with the shifts coming up perhaps a tad of insight mitigates any grumble in the atmosphere and annoyances eradicated.

First up on the shift list, on 10 September Venus dips into Scorpio. Traditional astrology might deem this an unfriendly placement... unfriendly if pursuing the passion for life without reservation feels uncomfortable. The passion of creativity pulses while Venus navigates Scorpio. The passion that is felt everywhere as the soul throbs (in a good way). Initially the Venus transit through Scorpio can feel like being swept away by an overpowering rip current. Actually, the tidal flow places a person into deeper waters, where the ability to dive deep actually exists. After a short time of processing the irresistible urge to do what fulfills your greatest aspirations, a beacon appears. There’s a lodestone of light to be found during this transit. Initially it could be seen as another uncomfortable tug toward unknown straits, which it is. Ultimately, the realization that following the flow of creative forces reduces resistance in life and improves emotional and spiritual well being. Going with the inner stirring opens portals previously unnoticed. It may not initially feel easy to let go and flow with it, but the gain is great if that helps get going.

Last week one night I was awakened from a crazy dream with one of those thoughts that had to captured: Where your imagination travels, your energy follows.

Does the energy follow? On 14 September Mars bids adios to Virgo and tips the scales in Libra. Should you fully feel the flow of Venus in Scorpio and sense your sea legs are under you, and if you want your energy to take in the room tone whispers and use them for good, then energy does follow and it follows organically if you embrace something you know you must do. Not if someone else thinks you should do it, or if they think you should not do it. It’s beyond your thinking and in the realm of knowing.

Ultimately, Mars transits to ping through an opposition to Chiron (30 September) and then Eris (21 October) in Aries. As Mars opposes Chiron, actions taken to follow the aspired creative pursuits that Venus recently encouraged, room tone becomes virtually imperceptible. The cycle of strack perceived by listening to the “noise” out there smooths out. Better yet, with a month of dedicated action in the pursuit of the deeper, and simultaneously loftier, pursuits in life enrich everything about you and everything you pursue with the absolute silence of knowing. As Mars comes up to oppose Eris, the realization that others make about choosing you are secondary to you choosing total inclusion in everything that permits your soul to have a great fit inside your being as this incarnation moves forward.

Before you know it... before the end of the year, Jupiter departs Aquarius, the sign that carries the big concern for the fate of the world and splashes in the shallow end, early degrees of creatively hopeful Pisces. Quickly, he moves into knee-deep, then chest-high water, then swims into the deep for a rendezvous with Neptune in Pisces in April. Both of those gaseous giants, by the way, maintain a relationship via rulership claims over Pisces - a spiritual and creative simpatico. This portends a profound time of inspiration, of creativity, of “imagineering,” of making up impossible concepts then working forward to cause those “way out there” ideas to manifest in real world reality. The waves are there for all to ride. Hints lie in the current room tone.

Where the imagination travels, your energy organically follows. Here’s to the upcoming sign changes of the personal planets taking a step one toward invoking the unlimited potential of Jupiter and Neptune’s tantalizing conjunction. After all, in the overall cosmic scheme of things, next April lies virtually only a bit beyond the next rise in the road.

More soon.
